Story Title: "Aakhri Baarish"
Part 1: The First Meeting
Aarav and Meera met in a library. Aarav was a writer who was doing research for his new book. Meera had come there to teach children. Their conversation that started between books slowly reached tea and then evening walks. Both of their lives were completely different—Aarav was calm and serious, while Meera was bubbly and full of dreams.
Part 2: The Season of Love
Rain became their favorite season. Whenever the drops of rain fell, they would meet on some pretext or the other—sometimes in a coffee shop, sometimes under an old bridge. Their world was just that of two people, and it seemed as if time had stopped.
Part 3: The Crack of Distance
But as time passed, the realities of life started to come to the fore. Aarav's books started selling and he became more busy. Meera felt as if she was no longer that important to him. They started fighting over small things.
One day Meera said, "Do you still love me like before?"
Aarav remained silent. His silence broke Meera's heart.
Part 4: The last meeting
One evening it was raining. Meera called Aarav near the same old bridge. Both of them sat quietly, drenched. Meera said softly, "I am leaving, Aarav. Forever."
Aarav tried to hold her hand, but Meera stepped back and said, "Sometimes love is not enough."
Part 5: Years later
Years later, Aarav became a famous writer, but there was a glimpse of Meera in every book. Even now in the rain, he would go alone to that bridge where he had seen her for the last time.
And Meera? She continued teaching children in a small town, but every time it rained, she would look towards an old bridge, as if someone would return.
